Abstract
The two-stroke gasoline engine has always faced big problems for harmful exhaust emissions and for the low energetic efficiency respect to similar four-stroke engines. This thesis deals with the study of a new single-fluid direct injection system, with low energy consumption, strongly reducing the exhaust emissions and fresh charge losses, supplying the possibility of further development (charge stratifications methodologies, for example, are possible modelling the upper surface of the piston and the head of the combustion chamber). The system, realised and developed in Germany by a work-group leaded by Prof. Cornel Stan in Zwickau University, inserts in the technological panorama, rapidly evolving, of in-cylinder direct injection for gasoline engines, which lastly is involving most of car and motorcycle producers, continuously trying to compliance the ever more restrictive anti-pollution laws in America, Europe and Japan.
