Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to allow a programmer to develop a distributed application in Java almost in the same way he develops a traditional one. Our proposal relies on the idea that a class should be developed without considering whether it is remote or not. To realise this objective we propose an object model that makes transparent the remote nature of a class and its instances. This model simplifies the usage of remote objects and introduces, in the distributed scenario, a new programming technique called remote class inheritance.
