Internet Protocol (IP) based communication networks, even public, like high-speed internet, are becoming one of the major information infrastructures in different uses, including Critical Infrastructures (CI). Energy, financial services, health care, public services and transportation infrastructures highly rely on communication networks which increase infrastructure vulnerability to adverse events, such as random failures and cyber attacks. Deriving techniques from dependability field, we consider an IP based communication network with wireless terminals, in which services are delivered to remote users by means of a fault and intrusion tolerant architecture of servers, in a client transparent way, and compute availability measures of the delivered services throughout the IP based communication network, by using a stochastic methodology.
